I have a Mac Pro editing H.264 footage in the Production Premium Suite. Everything seems fine.
I bought my software at a retail outlet and there is a disk entitled "Application 2" that I was never prompted to insert as part of the install and has no apparent effect when I insert it in the CD drive.
What does it do? If I work primarily in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Soundbooth and AE, should I install it?
Not sure of the material on Mac installation discs, but the last one is usually Functional Content for the products in the suite.
This material can be items like Title Templates for PrPro, Menus for Encore, Expressions for AE, perhaps Clip Art for PS, etc. With the old PC suites, that included Audition, there were tons of Loops, and other audio files. Not sure if those exist with Soundbooth. All programs should work fine, without the additional Function Content, but one might find the material useful.
I'd insert that disc, and use Finder (isn't that Mac's version of Windows Explorer?), and search the disc for the content.
Ok, thanks for the continued insights Bill!
