    Flex2: Fail to install...

    nHero2

      ...on two different machines. Both have Win7 SPK1. One is a 32-bit OS and the other is 64-bit OS.

      First it will say that "it seems that you are not logged on as an administrator" but I am.

      Then lots of check-boxes are missing. And eventually it complains about not finding some Java.

      Since I have this issue on two machines out of two, perhaps someone else had a similar problem.

      Thanks,

          Although you may be logged-on as an administrator, I believe, it doesn't mean applications are automatically ran in administrator mode.  Did you try running the application in administrator mode?  Here is a link that explains that:  http://kb.iu.edu/data/augx.html

            I ran the installer (on both machines) several times and often times I right clicked and "ran as administrator". Sometimes the installation sort of died and disappeared. Sometimes it said that it was installed successfully, but when trying to run the program is just points to a log-file and said that it didn't work out (on both machines).

            The log-file says:

            eclipse.buildId=unknown
            java.version=1.4.2_09
            java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.

              Looking at that stack, I came across the link below which seems relevant to your issue since you mentioned that you are trying to install Flex 2. http://www.eclipse.org/swt/faq.php#missingdll

              There is also several other questions and answers on that webpage from the link above.
