    Problem loading a movie

    Level 7
      I have a movie Products.swf which uses ASP to display some data from an MYSL
      database. This works on the server okay as a SWF or within an HTML.

      I have a main Movie Products_main that has a blank movie call Blank_Movie.
      I have a text box converted to a button with actioscript as follows:

      on (release) {
      _root.Blank_Movie.loadMovie("products.swf");

      }

      When I click on the button the movie loads but all I see is a blue box
      (movie background) but none of data or fields.

      If I drag the products movie into the Products_main movie the products movie
      simply flashes and does not show any data.

      ie this works http://80.5.54.164/cactus/cactushop5_1/products.html

      But when called from
      http://80.5.54.164/cactus/cactushop5_1/products_main.html (click on all
      tickets)

      It fails.

      Any help appreciated

      Cheers

          on the main timeline of products.fla, you can add

          this._lockroot=true;

          to try for a quick-fix. if that fails, you will need to post the code in products.swf used to call your asp script.

            I use :
            loadVariablesNum(" http://80.5.54.164/cactus/cactushop5_1/employee5.asp", 0);

            Cheers

              My guess is that the issue is with code in the products.fla file and how it creates the textfields on the screen. Are you using _root at all to create them? If so, it would better explain why the data isn't showing up.

                so what? did enabling _lockroot resolve the problem?

                  Sorry forgot to mention enabling_lockroot did not solve the problem

                    then you'll need to post the code that's loading and displaying the data in products.fla.

                      Code as follows:
                      first frame:
                      loadVariablesNum(" http://80.5.54.164/cactus/cactushop5_1/employee5.asp", 0);

                      second frame:

                      if (_root.Counter == 1) {
                      gotoAndStop(3);
                      } else {
                      gotoAndPlay(1);
                      }

                      Third frame:

                      // depth
                      depth = -1;
                      // hide the origional clips
