I have a situation here. I have to extract XMP datas from images. Everything is ok to a major exception. Applescript only give me what I want if I request a XMP property specifically. Ex:
get description of link xmp or link...
The fact is that request may change based on user preferences. The chosen field is stored as a string in the document (insertLabel) through a JS interface.
So I can extract that string with APS, no problem.
The fact is I end with something like
get "description" of link xmp of link...
that APS refuse to consider.
So my question is how can I make APS eat my string ? Is there any sort of eval or whatever that could make APS understand the string as a property request ?
Use app.doScript ...
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS4"
do script "get my name" language applescript language
Thanks a lot for that one. I needed to understand that I had to pass the whole script and not the specific line but it works like a charm.
