Hi, I'm using Flash CS5 and am currently working on an animation/advertisement as part of my final exam in Applied Art. This is a relatively large file consisting of internally animated Graphics and Movie Clips. When playing it in the .SWF player it seems to play fine with no extreme lag accept for a single second at the beginning but when exported to a .mov file it plays extremely slowly causing the frame rate to decrease considerably.
I need to upload this onto my youtube channel when it is done as the link needs to be sent to the examiner. All this may have something to do with the fact the .mov file, although unfinished, already weighs 75.6MB at 30 seconds of work.
Any tips on how to compress this or to get it to run smoothly would be incredibly appreciated and life saving.
When you export the .mov file are you changing the stage size or the frame rate? What video and audio compressors are you using?
I'm not sure what compressors I am using, I haven't changed the stage size, no. It is w700x h400 px and I simply tried to export as a .mov.
When you get to the part of the export where you select the file format, .mov, you will get a button in the lower left corner of the window marked "Quicktime Settings" or something like that. Hit that button and yet another window will open with the default settings for QT. These are almost always the wrong settings for best playback. Work with these settings to get the best possible playback.
