    Anti-alias HTML text without embedding fonts - possible?

    Ziggizag Level 1

      I use CSS to style a HTML-enabled dynamic textFiled in Flash. To save on SWF size I do not embedd fonts but use the following CSS:

      var cssText:String = "p{font-family: Verdana, Geneva, _sans; font-size: 26px; color: #F5C080; font-Style: italic;}";

      That should ensure Verdana font is used on Windows and Geneva font on Mac platform without font embedding.

      But is it possible to apply anti-aliasing?

      For whatever reason

      antiAliasType = AntiAliasType.ADVANCED;
      gridFitType = GridFitType.PIXEL;
      song.sharpness = -400;

      don't seem to work at all and large fonts looks jaggy.

      Do I really need to embedd font to get anti-aliasing working? That would be not funny!
