If I edit (the video only) of a concert with Dolby 5.1 audio, then render the file back to DVD, does Premiere Elements "downmix (?)" the 5.1 audio to stereo? When I look at the audio on the timeline (even in AP Pro, or Vegas Pro), I see no 5.1 audio waveforms after editing.
Thanks for the help.
Unless the software you're using to create your DVD is capable of producing 5.1 audio (Premiere Elements is not), your DVD will be down-mixed to stereo.
Thanks for answering. I also have a program (AVS Video Remaker) that claims to allow cuts and chapter adds "without the need to re-encode"). I wonder if this program will keep the 5.1 (no info regarding this on their site)?
