In windows dos prompt: nslookup hostname
The second group is the target host's ip address.
Thanks, i think my question might not have been clear.
I want my flex app that has been loaded into the browser from the server to display the IP in which it came from.
for exmaple. say the web site is at www.testsite.com
I have a text box that i named debug_text. when i go to www.testsite.com, I want to put in that debig_text window the IP of www.testsite.com.
I typically pass that information along as a flashvar. I've yet to discover a reliable way to discern the URL from within the flex app.
If you are using java, the first time you load the application try a HTTP call on the server using POST/GET, the servers Request object will have the ip of the machine which invoked this. something like request.getIp() send this as the response to the client.
P.S: There is no way for the client like JS or Flex to know which IP it is loaded into, the browser wouldn't allow.
