Hi, I'm new to Flex so excuse me if my questions are a little dumb. I am currently working on an Air app that will return timetable information from a MYSQL database. I have tested it on a sample Lecturers table and it returns just fine, but that was using the create a service from sample database option in the data wizard. The problem I have is that I need to return data which is stored in 6 tables that have relationships. Do I need to create individual PHP classes in order to retrieve data from different tables? Also once the data is returned, the last column will hold a room location number. I need to make these room numbers clickable, so that the user will be presented with a map (Retrieved also from the DB) to provide them with directions to their chosen lecture. Any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
I would suggest looking into creating a PHP service class that serves as a wrapper to access all of your tables from one class. Ideally that class would only expose methods needed to access the required data. I would look into "database abstraction layers" and "database abstraction objects" if you plan on making your code scalable and reusable.
