Question about how to make a background fade

    dm25 Level 1
I have a square with some background image / color. I want the background to be at 100 % at the top if the square, fading as I look down and at the very bottom I want the background to fade into white (or if not possible white, then transparent). Thank you for your help, I appreciate it!

Pull up the help file in Fireworks and type in Gradients. > Applying
          gradient and pattern fills.
That will explain how to do it.

            1) use the pulldown menu in the Properties palette to change the fill to "Gradient > Linear"
            2) click the color selector box. Use the small sliders at the bottom to adjust the color of each end point, and use the sliders at the top to adjust the transparency.
            3) click and drag the directional line that appears in the square to adjust the direction of the gradient.
