I recently upgraded my Mac Pro from Tiger and Acrobat 8 Pro to Leopard and Acrobat 9 Pro (I know, I'm a little late to the upgrade party — apologies but it's hard to find free time to keep up with the software maintenance; Acrobat X and Snow Leopard aren't options for me yet). I installed both on a different hard drive, if that makes any difference; it wasn't a direct "upgrade" for either software.
I used to be able to print PDFs from Acrobat to our Dell 3110 color laser printer, but when I started using Acrobat 9 instead of 8, it suddenly started hanging up when I used the Print command.
I originally discovered the problem when running Acrobat 9.2, so I checked for updates and saw that I should be up to 9.4.3. So I have run the update patch, and nothing has changed. Please note that my other printer, a Minolta PagePro, printed the same files just fine; only the Dell was a problem. I installed the Dell printer fresh when I installed this Leopard system, and there haven't been any driver updates recently, so I don't think that's the issue.
I have tried searching the Mac Acrobat forum, and haven't found anything related yet; but I did see people having similar issues on the Windows side. Basically I can choose the printer I want to use, and do a basic setup, but when I click the Print button the dialog box freezes. I can't even click Cancel. And that window overlays ALL other windows that may be open on my machine. I can't move forward until I use the Force Quit command to dump Acrobat.
OSX version: 10.5.8
Mac Memory: 10GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Acrobat version: 9.4.3
PitStop version: 9
Any insight or workarounds would be welcome!
