My problem is. I have a DV project NTSC. I am exporting to DVD. I first used dynamic link to encore. Took 5 days to render a 3.5 hour DVD; it errored and did not burn it??? I am now exporting as MPG2 DVD to my third hard drive. I am exporting a 55 minute clip as such. It is now 10 hours later, and I am at 24%

I have 13 GB ram dedicated to Premiere and 3 GB dedicated to background programs

      Any advice please??

I know this is not the kind of feedback you were waiting for, but here it is:

          1. What a waste of money. Way overpriced with nothing more than mediocre specs.

          2. AMD's are always slow in comparison to Intel, because of the lacking SSE4.1+ support. See PPBM5 Benchmark

          3. If you don't want to upgrade to an Intel system (I can understand that is not your first priority), try tuning your system, which also applies to Win7: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista...

This system should be more than adequate for DV material, not for AVCHD, but for your purposes and your material it should be fine. Tuning your system ought to give much better results. If you are still unsuccessful, go to the link "How to get Help Quickly" topic under the Help tab on the right hand of the page and look at the second part of that article. It details further details required in order to help you.

Thanks for the advice. I do appreciate it, and it could have future use-but wasn't the issues here.

Well, Intel was on recall when I ordered; so AMD it was. Also this was the cheapest of 5 quotes. Adobe support helped me to get ahold of the main issues. Setting the memory preference to memory from performance; and setting task manager priority as high for premiere from normal-took my render from 4 days to 4 hours.

            Problem solved.

Setting priority to high and having such an impact on performance is very likely caused by background processes that steal CPU/memory under normal priority. I suggest you check with Process Explorer how many processes are running and if more than 40 - 50, clean up. Also check the memory footprint of these processes.
