    Problem installing AIR on Linux/eeepc/xandros

      Hi,

I'm having a problem trying to install AIR under Xandros Linux on an eeepc 901. Yes, I know it isn't one of the supported distributions, but since it uses the debian style packet manager, I thought I'd give it a go.

The .airinstall.log file seems to indicate the the installer can't run ar :

      subinstaller: Installing package ...
      subinstaller: Copying /tmp/air.w6yL1c/setup.deb to /tmp/FlashTmp.6UbE7b/file1
      subinstaller: Deleting /tmp/air.w6yL1c/setup.deb
      subinstaller: Copying /tmp/air.w6yL1c/build/opt/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/Resources/setup.deb to /tmp/air.w6yL1c/setup.deb
subinstaller: Error occurred; beginning rollback: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Could not run the command : ar" errorID=1]

I am assuming this refers to the Linux 'ar' archive command. I can see no obvious reason why 'ar' wouldn't run, it works ok from the command line both as the default eeepc userID and via sudo.

      Any ideas please?

      Ian
