When I use the font picker in CS5 it displays the usual list and a preview of what each one will look like as I hover over it.
The problem is that I only see the bottom half of each font in the preview window and then some white space before a very small part of, what I assume to be, the next one.
I have tried altering the display size in preferences, type but that makes very little difference.Turning the display off altogether is not an option as I like to see the preview before choosing.
What could be causing this? I am running a brand new Win7 machinewith a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. Surely this not about the screen resolution?
Is that the native resolution for the machine?
That is indeed the native resolution for the machine. However since posting I have found the source of the problem.
The block of text I was using the font picker on had a large gap between the first and second line. This seems to have thrown the preview section which was obviously trying to duplicate my layout. The little extra bit I could see at the bottom was the top of the lower line of the text.
Tried it since with a regular block and it appears fine. Odd though that in a situation like that, Fireworks is not capable of just selecting the text it can display comfortably.
