How to make an image one colorIam

    jr4292 Community Member

I am trying to make a picture different shades of blue. Basically like black and white but with blue. I'm trying to mimic the example below. Does anyone know how to do this or know of any good tutorial sites?

I suppose this effect was done in more than one step.

The easiest approach would be a blue Solid Color Layer set to Blend Mode Color.

Another option that would allow for better control of color shifts along the brightness changes would be a Gradient Map Layer (set to Blend Mode Color).

            Image >> Mode >> Duotone

For an image to match the one below you need 2 inks Black & Dk Blue.

            • For Black you want to adjust the curve to be in shadows and not in the highlights
            • For Blue you want to adjust the curve to be in high to midtones  and not in the highlights

Then you need to decide how you want this to print. If 2 spot colors, then keep as is. If CMYK then image >> mode >> cmyk
