I hope someone can help me with this as I'm tearing my hair out with what is more than likely a combination of mistakes and inexperience on my part.
I have built a site for friend/client and am having issues with the display shifting slightly when I run through the top level navigation. I think the issue is something to do with the floated columns and clearing but I've tried many things and the problem remains.
Basically when you click through the menus the screen changes slightly which is very distracting and clearly not correct. I have noticed that the behaviour is also inconsistant across browsers as follows.
Safari (OS X) - Problem with CONTACT page
Firefox (WIN & OS X) - Problem with CONTACT page
IE (8) - Problem with CONTACT page
IE (7) - All seems to be ok!
Chrome (OS X) - Issue with severl pages.
I'd really appreciate your help with resoving this matter.

Seems to be a sideways jog due to varying height pages and the presence (or not) of the browser scrollbar as you run through the various pages.
If the height of the page content is greater than the height of the browser viewport then the browser generates a scrollbar on the right.
If not, then no scrollbar.
If you shrink the browser height to ensure a scrollbar on every page then there's no sideways jog between pages.
That's great, many thanks the preferred solution works just fine across all browsers.
I'm fairly new to this game as I'm sure you've noticed but the level of support provided from those like yourself with more experience has been fantastic.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
