1. Re: Questions about workflow
Bill Hunt Apr 10, 2011 4:31 PM (in response to dnice423)Welcome to the forum.
With out ADL (Adobe Dynamic Link), I would edit in PrPro, and then Export the Timeline in Lagarith Lossless, or UT Lossless CODEC (on the PC), or MOV Animation, or Photo-JPEG (if on a Mac). Create a matching Comp in AE, Import that file, do the CC, and then Export as the same format/CODEC. Import that into a new PrPro Sequence, or Project.
ADL does eliminate much of that Export/Import, but is only available if one has a suite with both PrPro and AE in it.
Good luck,
Hunt

JSS1138 Apr 11, 2011 3:10 PM (in response to dnice423)If all you're doing is color correcting, I recommend doing that right in Premiere Pro. There are plenty of built-in effects, or you can add something better like Colorista II.

shooternz Apr 11, 2011 4:33 PM (in response to dnice423)Here you go.
As a "rookie"... I suggest you should avoid After Effects for a while and until you get a handle on using PPRO.
PPro can do everything you probably need meantime (including CC).
EDIT in PPRO, FX in PPRO and CC/Grade in PPRO
Simply put...AEFX is un necessary (and not an obligatory) part of an editing workflow.
Many experienced users here have never used a PPRO / AEFX workflow.
Now..if you are determined to expose your self to the wonders of AEFX...you can use an "intermediate workflow".
Take a source clip into AEFX...do what you will ,with it ...then export an "intermediate clip" out of AEFX and import that to PPRO.

dnice423 Apr 11, 2011 6:29 PM (in response to shooternz)Thanx for reply, but as i said earlier im trying to use pre made presets that ive downloaded. The presets are downloaded in AE but i cant find them on PrPro.And ive literally been trying to get them on PrPro all day long. If theres a way to get them on PrPro please let me know. And please be specific if theres direction to doing it, i can navigate around in premiere but somethings i dont know what some people are talking about when they use abbreviations and stuff. Ive only been editing about a month and ive already done two music videos so i know a little but im sure i dont know much. And thanx again for replying. hope to hear back from you.

10. Re: Questions about workflow
shooternz Apr 11, 2011 7:55 PM (in response to dnice423)SO ...do these presets have a name?
Did they have an installation (.exe) procedure?
Are they for AEFX and Premiere Pro?
Is it a plug-in? (Paid / free)
(Infos all a bit vague and therefore difficult for us to find something that you have lost)
BTW: Has your original workflow question been answered?

11. Re: Questions about workflow
dnice423 Apr 12, 2011 10:04 AM (in response to shooternz)The made up name for the presets are just the name someone made up so you wouldnt find any information about or nothing. I guess i could i say yes you did answer my original question but, my main objective was to get the presets to work in PrPro or get them to work by going back a forth between PrPro and AE. I found someone thats suppose to explain how to get them in PrPro so i think ill be alright. But thanx for your reply and input & it means a lot to a rookie like me thats only been editing for a month. And if you get a chance check out my first full length music video, it would mean a lot to hear from someone with more experience than me about my progression. I dont know if you like this kind of music because i guess you could say its considered gangsta rap. but to me its more about my editing than the music, so check it out if ya get a chance heres the link.......http://<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="1280" height="750" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pJHThKKRoQY?hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
