I was tasked to find a way of getting rid of the floating toolbar that's now Adobe Reader X's default, and using the traditional toolbar. Here's the simple fix:
Edit -> Preferences
Click on the "Internet" catagory on the left had side of the screen.
Uncheck the box that says "Display in Read Mode by default"
So that fixes it for this person's profile. But I have a much bigger problem. I need this setting to go across our entire school district, to all users.
Where is the registry setting to disable "Display in Read Mode by default"?
The following registry key has to be added to the msi or mst
HKCU > Software > Adobe > Acrobat Reader > 10.0 > AVGeneral
Dword - bBrowserDisplayInReadMode = 0
Great! That worked Cody. Now, is there someplace besided HKCU? If it's for the current user, we have to change that registry setting for each person that logs in. Is there a way to do it in HKLM, or something similar?
