Currently I shrink my browser window down and put up a white desktop. Not too practical.
I agree also. I actually designed one with a white background which looked much better, in my opinion.

Sometimes I make a screenshot of the big patch to look at it in Preview (Mac). It shows the patch against a light gray backgound, Hex value EDEDED (about 7% black), which I consider as ideal.
What do I do? I'm a book designer for dk publishing. and Kuler is a great tool even without the change background feature. Thanks for the suggestions.
Glad you are enjoying kuler. My background includes many years in publishing, textbooks that is. DK books seem really fun to work on.
