I inherited a bunch of files originally created in Director 8, I believe, then updated to MX 2004. Now when I update them to 11.5 on OS 10.6, they appear to work fine in Director, but after publishing them no sounds play. I've tried replacing sounds, changing their types, adding new sounds, etc. but no difference.
Sounds work fine in new projects I create, and one of the inherited projects works. The difference is that that one was created originally in MX and updated to 11.5 on OS 10.4.
I'm desperate, because the old projectors will cease to work when Lion comes out and drops Rosetta. Adobe, please help.
You're probably just missing one or more of the sound xtras. Go to Modify, Movie, Xtras and click the Add Defaults button. Then recompile the projector. That will likely fix it. Or add the sound related xtras manually to your external xtras folder.
That did it!
Thanks a lot, Mike.
I want to thank Mike as well. Last week I posted a similar inquiry as how to solve a sound issue in projectors. Your answer solved my issue as well. Perhaps you can help me with my new post to come.
