Hi, I can't seem to run Fireworks CS4 anymore. When it launches the splash screen shows but then a dialog box appears with a message 'An internal error occurred, An internal error occurred'! With that it doesn’t launch and I have to force quit using task manager.
I'm running Windows XP professional. I have tried these things to fix the issue...
1, De-installed then re-installed.
2, De-installed Quicktime as it was a suggestion on another forum.
3, Removed all my Fonts except system fonts, again another suggestion on another forum.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Shut down Fireworks. Locate the Fireworks preferences.txt file on you machine and delete it. Load FW again. All the default settings should be restored.
I don't have a preferences.txt to delete! I've done a search on my machine for it and manually looked without success.
I hope this helps as I'm now able to use Adobe fireworks again!!!!
I found the preferences.txt for Fireworks but that didn't work. As I've done every logical thing I could think of I thought I'd just start deleting other Prefs as the software was useless and using up hard drive space on my machine anyway. It turns out that deleting 'Fireworks CS4 Panel Prefs.xml' (for me!) done the trick.
Why un-stalling the software and re-installing it didn’t work is beyond me!!!
