Have you checked your OS number settings? On a Win it is in Control Panel>Regional & Language Options>Number, whcih should have a full stop (dot) as punctuation mark before decimals. I am not sure about Macs.

Wade_Zimmerman Apr 16, 2011 9:18 AM (in response to Jacob Bugge)Perhaps there are no brushes and color avaiable for this document, this will be the case if you open a bit map image as opposed to placing an image.
I believe this will cause this situation to be so.
But Imight be misunderstanding the problem

grizzlybeard Apr 16, 2011 11:11 AM (in response to Wade_Zimmerman)Thanks for the reply. The problem occurs with a new document, so it's not a
situation caused by not placing a doc..

Jacob Bugge Apr 16, 2011 12:09 PM (in response to grizzlybeard)grizzlybeard,
It sounds as if it might be corrupted preferences. You may try to Move the folder with Illy closed (reversible) or press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easier but irreversible).

Thanks for your help. I reset the preference and things seem to be working well.
