I produce advertising banners with Flash CS4. I often have to comply to a max weight of 40K. Sometimes I use functionnalities that make Flash export actionscript classes to a frame in the swf which makes it exceed the 40k limit. Is there a way to make flash export those classes to a separate file instead of in a frame?
no matter what you do with any files that contain actionscript, they will be included your published swf. you can control when they are loaded (if you have a swf with a main timeline containing more than 1 frame). and you can use precompiled code in your swf, but your swf will still contain that code and its size will reflect it.
Thanks for your reply. When you mention "precompiled code", how do I do that? Will it reduce the "weight" of the code in the swf?
right click any library movieclip and click "convert to compiled clip" to precompile code. that won't decrease size but it will decrease compile time
