From: Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0 to Adobe Reader 10:  Uninstall First?

I have Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 installed on my PC now. I use it only to read PDF files and occasionally sign one.

It does not upgrade to later versions from within the program.

I'd rather use the Adobe Reader to view PDF files. I see Adobe Reader 10 is the latest version.

      1) Is it necessary to first uninstall the Adobe Acrobat 6.0 before installing the Adobe Reader? Or can I simply install  Adobe Reader

      directly over it?

      2) If I uninstall Adobe Acrobat first, would the PDF files I already have stored on my PC be readable with the new adobe Reader?

      Thanks in advance:

      Windows XP, Professional Edition SP3

      Adobe Acrobat Professional Edition 6.0.6
