1. Re: ePub errors
[Jongware] Apr 24, 2011 4:15 AM (in response to therayman)The Date problem is a well-known one, and normally I'd suggest you to search the forum ... but Search Forum doesn't work.
This thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/722581 is found using Google, and I think it describes a solution.
... and No I'm not interested in 5.5 - that carrot won't meet my deadline.
The good news is that it (allegedly) solves this particular problem.

2. Re: ePub errors
DerekC1000 Apr 24, 2011 4:37 AM (in response to therayman)InDesign CS5 can automatically export metadata if you enter information in the file Information dialogue box. Do this on the cover file (usually one JPG): File > File Info… There are only certain fields that can be completed: Document Title; Author; Description; Keywords (which are separated by commas or semi-colons); and the Copyright Status. Only these items will be exported to ePub. Put the metadata in the cover file, if it’s put elsewhere it will be ignored. Additional metadata can be entered in the Digital Edition Export Option panel: the name of the Publisher and the unique identifier (usually the ISBN). Tick the Include Document Metadata box in the same panel. Good luck!

therayman Apr 24, 2011 1:28 PM (in response to [Jongware])All very good and as you say the search was down. A much easier solution is
to use eScape with Open Office which works perfectly first time, no messing
about required and its free. Adobe lags behind yet again....
