Do not have permissions to ... install pixel bender from extension manager

mac book pro, 10.0.7, photoshop cs5.  Whether opening the extension manager and then installing pixelbenderplugin_p2_64bit_090910  or just double clicking on the downloaded file, extension manager goes to the "accept terms", click accept, then gets a message that I do not have permission to perform this operation.  Sole user on teh machine.  Have gone to every folder I can imagine that extension manager would write to and made sure I have read / write permission for that folder.   Read thru the forums.  Tried your trick with terminal "command not recognized:"  Have completely un installed photoshop cs5 with the uninstaller, ran the cs5 clean tool (which found nothing to remove), and completely re installed ps cs5, and downloaded all the updates, (for extension manager also - and air).  And it still won't allow me to install the pixel bender plug in.

May not be relevant but may be.  Upgraded the computer from 15" to 17", and 10.5 to 10.0.7 on the new one (pixel bender ran fine on the old machine), and migrated all files and programs from the old machine to the new one.  ps wouldn't run, so uninstalled and reinstalled everything.   Have had the problem trying to get the pixel bender plug in installed ever since.   All the other plug ins I use work and migrated successfully.
