If you buy the appropriate aftermarket Cooler Master cooler (the Hyper 212 Plus is good and cheap), it should come with a small tube of thermal paste.
That's the one I ordered and I just watched the video that shows the paste included.
Is this included paste good enough for overclocking?
Being new to this, I'm not sure if most builders throw away whatever paste is included.
Or, is most of the aftermarket paste just gravy marketing success and no better than what's provided?
There is no more than a couple of degrees C difference between the included thermal paste and most of the aftermarket pastes. The stock thermal paste, when correctly applied to the Hyper 212 Plus (you need to fill in the gaps between the heat pipes of the cooler's base and a little dab on the CPU), should be good for an overclock up to around 4.5 GHz or so.
