CFMAIL - mails cannot be delivered to relay

Hi

We are experiencing an annoying problem when sending out mails via cfmail. Sometimes the mails are delivered to the relay server but most of the time they are moved to the undelivered folder.
In de mail.log we found this error appearing many times:
"Exception reading response; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out"

In the CF admin, when doing a verification of the connection to the mail server, this is OK.

Any idea how this can be solved? We're using CF 7.02.

Many thanks in advance!

What's in the log files on the relay ? What happens if you verify the
connection multiple times in the CF admin ? How many e-mails are you
sending ? Does the relay implement rate-limiting ? If it does it's
implemented in the firewall ?
