Adobe Reader X crashes when I try to print

Just updated to Adobe Reader X ver 10.0.1 all seems to work well until I try to print. I hit the print icon and I get the print popup, it has my default printer selected so I hi the OK button, and get the message that Adobe Reader has stopped working, Winows is checking for a solution to the problem. It goes on to say that "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I am running WIndows 7 64 bit. I have gonne through the forums and can find nothing that matches this description. All other Documents print eg. Word, Excel, notepad, so I know  my printer is working. I have tried printing older and newer PDF files, with the same result, These have all been PDF files on my hard drive. I have also tried to print files from the original source on the  internet (IE 9) with the same results.
