we are trying to develop mutiplatform games with flash and air 2.6
With the 2.6 release, and using some optimization techniques (png, gpu rendering, opject pooling), now we achieve a very decent framerate of 30fps with 20 objects 256px X 256px moving across the screen of an ipad1.
The real problem we are experiencing is that if there is something else running in the background (expecially safari, no matter the url - for example one window stopped on google homepage), the overall performance slow down to a terrible 7-8 fps.
This is unacceptable, since the common user has ALWAYS something running in background...
Someone has experienced the same problem?
I can post code and video of the issue, if requested.
Every help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm going to forward this to the iOS team, but it would be great if you could post a sample project and steps that demonstrates the problem. A video demonstration is also very helpful and appreciated.
