I purchased some stock video with graphics to use in a slide show using Photodex ProShow Gold. This is the video. I am trying to create a video overlay by making the white background transparent. I am using Premiere Elements 3.0.2. I can use the Chroma Key effect on the video and adjust the Similarity to remove the white background, but I can't figure out where to go from here. I've done a forum search, but can't find what I need. From some Internet search I've been able to determine that not all video formats support transparency either, so some advice as to the best format in which to save the finished clip would also be helpful. Thanks much!
You can certainly use the Chroma Key video effect to made a video on an upper track transparent, prairiegirl.
Is that all you're trying to do?
You can NOT, however, export a video from Premiere Elements with alpha -- or transparency -- in the video, if that's what you're trying to do.
That feature is available in After Effects. However, that's a considerably more powerful and more expensive program.
You answered my question. I would like to export with alpha, but I understand now that is not possible with Premiere Elements. Thanks.
