titleWindowId.title = (list.selectedItem.item as Object).attributeName
Or if item is just a string you should just be able to do
titleWindowId.title = list.selectedItem.item
Okay, this seems easy, but I'm confused.
Maybe it's important to note that my TitleWindow (variable name: popup) is a custom component.
In my main application file I have a function that sets up the popup:TitleWindow for display. I can set properties of the textboxes in the popup from the main app, but assigning the title isn't as straight forward.
This line: popup.title = authorGrid.selectedItem.authorName;
This line: popup.title = (authorGrid.selectedItem as Object).authorName;
This line: popup.title = "some name";
Don't produce any results.
Should this capability be set up in the class file for the custom component?
Okay, Okay. The information you provided in the first reply worked.
I just have a problem with FB in that it doesn't always want to respond to changes and I have to restart the IDE to get it to work correctly.
