1. Re: Dropped Frames PPro CS4 AVCHD MTS cards
JSS1138 May 6, 2011 12:55 PM (in response to KateMorgan)This is a bug with earlier versions of Premiere Pro. It got fixed with CS5.
So yes, upgrade to CS5.5 and all should be well.
(Also, use the Media Browser to import your clips, and they will come in properly as just the two clips.)

Just under 4Gig each?
That is so they will work with a Mac or Fat32 drive

able123 May 6, 2011 1:25 PM (in response to John T Smith)if its just one "red" frame..at each "segment" , you can cut that one frame out when you see it. and it wont hurt your timing etc or sync...when sound and video is still linked. ( in other words that one frame is cut out for both video and sound)
I tend to think its the fat32 thing ( mac ) vs NTFS ( pc ). dont be bummed ...happens even with pro dailies and stuff from fcp and avid to dvd dailies and is just one of those things you can fix ( cut the frame out ) ...pretty fast and easy to do.

KateMorgan May 6, 2011 4:32 PM (in response to JSS1138)Thank you!!! I will upgrade.
Jim.. you suggested I also use a Media Browser. I am unsure what that is. I use Adobe Bridge most of the time but have been using Explorer to import the files from my card.
Cheers.

6. Re: Dropped Frames PPro CS4 AVCHD MTS cards
JSS1138 May 7, 2011 7:31 AM (in response to KateMorgan)Media Browser is a window inside of Premiere Pro. It is used to import the clips into Premiere. You can still use Explorer to copy the folder from card to hard drive. (Take care of your terms here, they mean different things.)

KateMorgan May 7, 2011 8:01 AM (in response to JSS1138)Oh yes.. of course... I use it all the time to import into PPro. I just didn't recognise its handle. Thanks again!
