First, a couple of questions:
What are the full specs. of that AVI file? This ARTICLE will give you some background, and also some tips on finding that info.
What version of CS5/CS5.5 are you running?
Are there any external, or networked HDD's involved?
Good luck, and let us know a little bit more, please.
thank your bill for your response to my query. the avi file that keeps generating peak file is an dv avi file. i had used the same file in premiere pro 2. but in CS5 it keeps generating peak file. i imported the dv avi file in hdv project. i guess maybe because of that the dv avi file keeps generating peak file. but only this dv avi file keeps generating peak file other hdv file in the project do not.
The DV-AVI should be about as "plain vanilla" as it gets. For some reason, PrPro is loosing the link to the Media Cache, where the CFA and PEK files are stored. That was why I asked about the external, or networked HDD's, as those can contribute to the links breaking.
