There are no codec limitations in the trial versions for After Effects CS5.5 or Premiere Pro CS5.5.
Does importing this footage work in Premiere Pro CS5.5? It wasn't clear from your post whether you had imported into Premiere Pro CS5.5.
If you send a problematic asset attached to a bug report to aebugs at adobe dot com, then we can look into the problem.
Apologies if I wasn't clear.
I imported the XDCAM footage into AE CS5 - which worked as expected. What I didn't do a dynamic link from PP CS5 to AE CS5 with the same footage.
Neither way seems to work in AE CS5.5.
I'll attempt again tomorrow when the heat has subsided. If that still fails, I'll follow your advice
I am having the same problem. I shot AVCHD on my Panasonic DMC-GH1, and the footage loads fine into Premiere Pro CS5.5, but After Effects CS5.5 will throw an error claiming damaged or unsupported file type. Worked fine in CS5. Any idea what's up?
I have not resolved the XDCAM issue of two weeks ago - which was the first time I had tried AE CS5.5 trial.
In addition, I am now receiving the message that Sony Z1 footage is either damaged or unsupported when I attempt to import it, yet AE CS 5 and PP CS5.5 do recognise it.
The dynamic link with PP CS5.5 is also not correct; The link is made, but the first frame - colour bars - is frozen throughout the entire clip. The audio track plays as expected. All works as expected in Production Premium CS5, so I doubt I have problems with the source material.
Does anyone recognise these symptoms, and is able to offer advice.
Uninstalling/deleting preferences and reinstalling has fixed all issues.
Strangely, the trial has reset to 30 days!!! This isn't usual. Maybe the application just did not register its assets (or whatever) upon initialisation.
I think I am having the same problem.
I downloaded AE CS5.5 trial and I cannot import my .mt2s files.
I can import into premiere pro CS5.5 tho, but now AE CS5.5
I did try uninstalling and reinstalling without any success.
Did you delete the prefs file? I'm not sure that's the global solution, but it worked for me.
I sure did.
Im going to try another reinstall and I will post the results.
No luck, I have reinstalled this bad boy 3 times today with no luck.
