In SawStudio, it's possible to open the frequency analysis window in bar mode and click on a single bar or any combination of bars and the application will solo those specific frequencies so you can hear what's there.
You can also invert your selection, effectively muting a frequency or range of frequencies.
This is particularly powerful when trying to attenuate a noise, or even mix up a particular sound that lives in a specific frequency range.
Would it be possible to accomplish something similar in Audition? I always found it incredibly powerful and useful.
I don't want to violate forum etiquette, but for some reason my feature request wasn't showing in the forum (I had to go into my account to actually find it), so I'm just bumping it in the hopes that it appears again. Not sure why it isn't visible.
You can do similar things in the Spectral view in Audition. Just select a band of frequencies and Play Only Selected Frequencies.
