What am I doing wrong with this 60i footage?

I filmed some footage on my Panasonic TM-700. I always thought the default for this camera was 30p but apparently it's 60i. I just recently found this out by looking at one of my clips in MediaInfo. I investigated because I couldn't get a project I'm working on to look good at 100%. Here are screenshots of a few configurations below:

Put into a 60i timeline (preview status bar appears yellow without effects):

It looks like this in the Preview window and in the Output tab when in the media encoder settings.

It looks like this in the Source tab when in the media encoder settings.

Put into a 30p timeline (preview status bar appears red even without effects):

It looks like this in the Preview window:

In both the source and output tabs of the media encoder, it looks like the first image.

I thought since the source is 60i, I ought to edit in a 60i timeline and export to 60i, right!? Additionally, it doesn't even look like I can export interlaced when choosing H.264 output.

      Help is much appreciated, thanks!
