You may be the one to find those answers and post back for others down the road. 3D editing doesn't get a lot of attention around here.
I have the Sony HDR-TD10 and I am presently editing its MVC 3D files in Sony Vegas 10d. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only NLE system at this time capable of ingesting the MVC format files. Hence Vegas is the only way to edit the 3D stereoscopic footage shot with this camera.
Since I prefer to use Adobe's Premier Pro and I have CS5.5, I am hopeful that Adobe will soon support the MVC file format acquired by the Sony camera.
Sony Vegas 10d...humm...Interesting!
Can it also make the Bluray3D authoring? (Not just the Bluray authoring).
Or it just offer the MVC files editing?
I want explain more, for some testing purpose:
I don't have any 3Dcamcorder, any Bluray3D, any 3DTV.
-I want buy a MVC camcorder such Sony HDR-TD10E or JVC Everio GS-TD1, because it is the only way to achieve x2 3D streams 1920x1080 FullHD, instead of Panasonic AVCHD squeezed side-by-side half image layout.
-I need to edit the 3D content, and display it on a 3D-FullHD TV, with Bluray3D set-top player.
-Thus, I need to convert all to MVC format, and burn it on a Bluray3D Disc, to play those videos on a 3DTV, because all the branded 3DTV don't offer the possibility to display stereoscopic videos via USB PenDrive, only the .MPO photos can be viewed!
-Thus I tried "Mainconcept Reference 2.2-MVC" and converted short videos from 2 left/right streams AVCHD, made in CG with 3DSMax2011 and edited in PremiereProCS5.
But I am not sure, I ask this:
-Is it possible to put this simple 3D " xx.MVC file" on a DVD,Bluray,or Bluray3D disc, and play it with a Bluray3D player connected to a 3DTV?
-Or I should create a Bluray3D folder structure, like a Bluray3D, on a DVD and on a standard Bluray disc?
What software can do that?
Sony Vegas 10 do it?
Or, can I just create manually the Bluray3D folder structure, with the .MVC file included?
Or I need a Bluray3D Authoring Software? What low-cost Software for example?
For MVC editing, I should wait for Adobe CS6? Or it is planned an update for CS5.5?
Sorry, I am Italian, it is very difficult for me to understand what he says!
I can just read the english text, or follow the actions of a videotutorial!
Thus my question is the same:
-What software can do that?
-Sony Vegas 10 do the Bluray3D authoring?
-For MVC editing, should I wait for Adobe CS6? Or is it planned an update for CS5.5?
Horsepower, 3D Bluray Authoring software is expensive. Check out DoStudio from NetBlender and Sony BluPrint.
You also need Cineform Neo.
That is a really bad solution.. first by Premere, then by a plugin and then pray that nothing breaks and have arguements between 2 companies on who actually is to blame for something not working... (or 3 if you include nvidia). Above that, the plugin is almost twice the cost of the pro version of Sony Vegas. Seems like Adobe is so wrapped up in fixing Flash that it is ignoring its other products.
