1. Re: Hi all, need my logo on Illustrator to be altered so its ready to cut on a vinyl plotter
Scott Falkner May 22, 2011 1:17 PM (in response to simpson246)Good luck with that.
If you want more than encouragement, then you had better give us more to work with. Show us the logo now, both in preview and in outline view. And tell us, for Bog’s sake, what version of Illustrator you have.

Scott Falkner May 22, 2011 1:56 PM (in response to simpson246)Ohforchristsake…
A lot of us do. But without seeing the damned image and knowing what you’re starting with there’s nothing we can do to help you. If you insist on not giving us anything to work with then you won’t get any answers.

7. Re: Hi all, need my logo on Illustrator to be altered so its ready to cut on a vinyl plotter
Scott Falkner May 22, 2011 3:48 PM (in response to simpson246)That’s a start. Show us the outline view as well.Essentially, you want your outline view to look like hairline outlines around all the black areas. Anything that’s white should be a lack of artwork, rather than white artwork. A better way to work is with the transparency grid showing so you can see where you need to get rid of white.
You want: No strokes. Nothing white anywhere. Anyplace shapes overlap you want the shapes merged into one shape, like below.

simpson246 May 22, 2011 3:55 PM (in response to Scott Falkner)Thanks for the input and time
cannot generate outline was the error i was getting when trying to copy from illustrator to Dr Stika.
I have done the unite option on pathfinder as some of them did overlap so thats sorted.
What shall i do next please?
Ill get an outline image when on my other computer tomorrow but what else needs to be done please?
Many thanks indeed

Wade_Zimmerman May 22, 2011 11:54 PM (in response to simpson246)Object>Flatten the transparency vector to raster setting 100% vector on the slider at the top it is ok to select or leave it to outline strokes.
If you need then after flattening the transparency then you can unite.
Give it a fill of none and a stroke I believe of .125 pts.

10. Re: Hi all, need my logo on Illustrator to be altered so its ready to cut on a vinyl plotter
Monika Gause May 23, 2011 4:17 AM (in response to simpson246)Maybe the Stika-Software can't work with groups and/or compound paths. It should have a manual with instructions.

simpson246 Oct 8, 2012 11:37 AM (in response to Moto110)I nev did I'm afraid.
I soon after bought a Roland cutter and recieved Cutstudio software with it. With this, you can get a illustrator add on which makes it all very easy
