You could always export text from Fireworks as HTML text rather that graphic text. Just have to change the slice containing the text from graphic to HTML in the Properties panel.
I just tried this and added a slice to a image and added a slice to some text and change the text to HTML in the Property Inspector. After exporting it, the text does not display. It just displays the white background. I exported with HTML, images and slices. What am I doing wrong?
If you really wish to try going this route, rather than builidng the site in Dreamweaver, you'll be better off experimenting the the CSS and Images export. It's not perfect, but at least you won't be building a table-based layout.
There are numerous tutorials and videos at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks.html to help get you up to speed. You will STILL end up in Dreamweaver or another web editor at some point, but you'll be dealing with a total CSS/HTML layout, rather than the table-based, prototype-only, HTML and Images export result.
