Codecs that I did not find in the export settings menu in After Effects.
Ahem, you do not export, you render via the Render Queue. Please read the help on how to set up correct output module settings and where to find the options.
Hi Todd & Mylenium,
I mean the format options of the output module when i choose Quicktime as format.
There are not so many format options in this dropdown list as under the export settings in FCP.
Is it not possible to make a QT ProRes 444 or TGA+ file in AE ?
If you have the codecs installed in QuickTime on that computer, then After Effects can use them when it renders and exports to a QuickTime container.
So, do you have the ProRes 4444 encoder installed on that computer?
Editing your output module should look something like this:
You should see something very similar. You can also access the output module from the Render Cue.
ProRes 4444 & TGA+ installed on computer ?
I thought so, because it is possible to export in FCP in that format.
Maybe i'm not searching at the right place. Next week i will follow the instructions of Rick's You Tube tutorial.
Almost always, the ONLY machines that can both read and write the ProRes family of codecs are those with Final Cut Pro 6+ installed.
I have FCP at work, and AE on a Windows machine at home with QT 7.whatever. If I want to do work at home, I export from FCP in ProRes HQ, and render PNG sequences to bring back to work. It's a lossless round trip.
