This is my first post since I've purchased the CS5 platform and I have to admit, everything about Premiere screams BEAST. It takes in, chews and chops up native DSLR footage like I've never seen. This is an edit we recently did last weekend (same edit edit) - perfect example of how effective this software can be in moments where everything is on a deadline. Macbook pro i7 was used..

Premiere (and computers and the video editing industry) has come a LONG way since I started with Premiere 6x and DV AVI files digitized by a Pinnacle Dv500 from an 8mm analog Sony camcorder
Many more formats accepted for "native" editing (not all, but many) and many more output options
For me, on a PC, the only software I need (of course, my family movies are not going to win any awards, but I like what Premiere Pro does)
