I have the strangest thing happening on a Premiere Pro CS5 and CS5.5 workflow. I have imported a GIF file that has a border but it is transparent in the middle to have vides show through. When importing the file to CS5 and CS5.5 on a Mac, the transparent portion shows white. When importing it to Windows, it shows the right transparency. The workflow is HD and 30fps. I have saved the file from Photoshop on PNG and PSD format with no success. What could be happening. I also sent the file to an expert from Adobe and it worked fine on his system. What setting could be messed up in my Mac? I appreciate anyone's help.
So let me get this straight... you open the gif in Photoshop and you can see the transparency. Then you save it as a PSD but you still see no transparency on PPro on a Mac. Just for the hell of it, open the gif in PS, make layer from the background, use the magic wand to the select the area inside the frame that is supposed to be transparent, then hit the delete key. Now save it as a PSD with maximized compatibility and try it again.
Stan, thanks a lot. I did exactly what you suggested and it worked. It was very weird that it worked as-is in Windows but not in Mac. In any case, thanks a lot!
