Problem: FrameMaker 9 won't open. If you double click it, nothing happens. Uninstalling and reinstalling FrameMaker does NOT fix the problem. FrameMaker just won't launch, work, open, or load.
I had this problem with FrameMaker 9 and never got it resolved. Reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows fixed the problem for me. However, a friend (thanks Tammy) just ran into this same problem. The fix she found is easier.
"After 1.25 hours on the phone with Adobe, they figured out (there were two of them on my case) that there was a corrupted file in the Linguistics folder under localmachine\Document Settings\username\Application Data\ Adobe\Linguistics. They renamed the Linguistics folder to Linguistics_old and relaunched FM. FM created a new Linguistics folder with new uncorrupted files"
I have not had this problem with FrameMaker 10. I wanted to post the problem and a possible solution here for others who might search for a solution.
