    html5, conditional css on html tag and templates

      I cant seem to get dreamweaver to play nice with Paul Irish's technique of putting conditional css on the html tag and dreamweaver templates

      When i put the following code in a template i get the message to use codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="true"

      <!doctype html>

      <!--[if lt IE 7 ]> <html class="ie6"> <![endif]-->
      <!--[if IE 7 ]>    <html class="ie7"> <![endif]-->
      <!--[if IE 8 ]>    <html class="ie8"> <![endif]-->
      <!--[if IE 9 ]>    <html class="ie9"> <![endif]-->
      <!--[if (gt IE 9)|!(IE)]><!--> <html class=""> <!--<![endif]-->

      but doing so removes all my server side code outside <html>...

      is there a workaround for this ?
