We have a clip that plays audio in Quicktime and when double clicking the clip from the project tab inside AE.
But when it's dropped into the timeline, the clip doesn't play any audio - when doing a RAM preview, playing audio (period key on keypad) or Command dragging the time thumb.
When we expand the layer on the timeline, it doesn't show a waveform - we see the little speaker icon on the layer and the RAM preview is set to hear audio.
If it plays in Quicktime it should play in AE right - maybe not?
This is what Quicktime says the format is:
Apple Motion JPEG A, 720 x 486, Millions
24-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
720 x 486 pixels (Actual)
Obvisouly we're missing something basic - any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
In the end we exported the audio separately from Quicktime and synced it up in After Effects.
Where everything fails... AE just doesn't like anything beyond 16bit audio or at least it is being rather particular about where these files come from....
