You didn't open your version 7 project in version 9, did you?
As I warn in my books, you should never open an older version project in a newer version of the program. It nearly always causes unfixable glitches.
Welcome to the forum.
Along with Steve's question on your Project, can you give us more details. The full Project description would be helpful, as would the information on the Video used. The more detials, the better. This ARTICLE will give you tips on what info would be important, and how to gather much of that.
When the Project is Open in PrE, if you Dbl-click on one of the Video Clips, can you get playback in the Source Monitor?
Last, have you updated both your video card's driver, and also made sure that you have the latest version of Apple's QuickTime Player?
I second Steve's recommendation not to open 7 projects in 9. Bad stuff happens.
I did open it elements 7 in elements 9.
I have a 2004 toshiba. and I an error button was coming up, saying that elements 9 is not compatiable with the display driver or needing to updated.
So I reloaded elements 7 back up and opened up my project and luckily I everything was still okay.
Am I able to update a display driver so that elements 9 is compatiable?
or is there a way to transfer all my project on my 2004 toshiba pc laptop to my Macbook on Elements 9.
just trying to make this easier for me to edit this huge project.
Look UP and to the RIGHT and click the links and do some reading
On the UP part there are 2 links just above the list of messages concerning video driver problems

Could you update the display driver and let us know if the problem is resolved. But you mentioned Toshiba, so you might have to download it from Toshibas site, rather than nVidia or ATI...
