I have been using Adobe Premier Pro 2 for many years as my output needs were only 1024x1024. I now need 2400x2400 output and am trying to use Adobe Pro CS5. When I import a clip and drag it to the source monitor, I am unable to drag it to the timeline (I get the hand with the cross-circle). This was very straightforward in 2.0, but I can't even get the menus for the timeline to activate. Very frustrating. Can someone tell me what the magic button is that makes the timeline available?
Welcome to the forum.
Joe has given you the steps. Things have changed from PrPro 2.0, where one's Project's settings were applied to Sequences too. Now, Sequences are unique, and will allow the settings to be applied to them. They can be different setting throughout the Project, or can be the same. Sequences are now unique, and offer more power, and flexibility. Once you get the mechanics down, you will enjoy things more.
[Edit] Be sure to see the CreativeCow "Magic Bullet" Tutorial, from the link at the bottom of Joe's article. Well done.
