1. Re: conditionalized headings not breaking in RH
Jeff_Coatsworth Jun 2, 2011 11:24 AM (in response to argus08)Are the conditionalized text heading 2's appearing in RH or do you have the Conversion settings set to use FM's conditions? See Matt Sullivan's post on this at http://temp.roundpeg.com/2010/06/tcs-tips-for-conditional-text/

2. Re: conditionalized headings not breaking in RH
argus08 Jun 2, 2011 12:13 PM (in response to Jeff_Coatsworth)Sorry, yes, the H2s are showing in the help, but under the preceding H1 topic. For example, one section has H1>H2>H2>H2, where the first and second H2 are set to HelpOnly in FM. She set the conditional expression in FM at the book level and regenerated the book. She created a new project in RH, set to use the FM condition expression, breaking at H1 and H2. In the example, the third H2 is its own topic, but the first and second H2 are included in the H1 topic. This only seems to happen when she imports the whole book - when she tried just with one chapter (for speed of testing), it worked fine.

3. Re: conditionalized headings not breaking in RH
Jeff_Coatsworth Jun 2, 2011 12:47 PM (in response to argus08)Is there any text or different paragraph type between the 2 headers i.e. H1, text, H2, text, etc.? I seem to recall some issue with pagination failure happening when an H1 & H2 were right after each other - RH didn't like creating a mostly-blank topic, and the solution was to add some lorsum filler to bulk it out.

argus08 Jun 2, 2011 1:25 PM (in response to Jeff_Coatsworth)We always make sure there is text after a heading to avoid those situations.

5. Re: conditionalized headings not breaking in RH
Jeff_Coatsworth Jun 2, 2011 1:41 PM (in response to argus08)Hmm, what about trying it using the RH CBT? Try the import again, but don't use the FM conditions. See if that produces a different result. If that doesn't do it, maybe it's time to report it to Adobe.

6. Re: conditionalized headings not breaking in RH
argus08 Jun 6, 2011 10:49 AM (in response to Jeff_Coatsworth)Thanks for your help, Jeff. I did suggest that she try importing it (instead of linking the book). For this particular project, it only involves four topics, so she just manually split them in RH.
Unfortunately, as a consulting company, sometimes we just have to settle for the workaround instead of taking the <unbillable> time to find the real problem/solution.
