    mms.cfg: FileDownloadDisable

    bridge

      There is a setting within the optional file mms.cfg (FileDownloadDisable) that can be set to disable file downloads.

      Is there a way to  interrogate the flash player as to if file downloads are actually  permitted without requiring the user actually try the download, catch  the error and then say downloads are not permitted afterwards?

      I know how to handle the error if file downloads are disabled.

      try {
        fileRef.download(urlReq);
      }
      catch(e:IllegalOperationError) {
        trace("caught error handling");
      }

      But ... I want to have a smart application that knows ahead of time that file downloads are disabled.  The user may not know about the settings in mms.cfg as it could have been done by corporate IT without their knowledge.
